Soyfem

Glycine max semen extr. sicc.

Drug composition

One tablet contains 100 mg of soy seed extract (including 26 mg of isoflavones converted to genistein) and additional substances: microcrystalline cellulose, polivinol pyrolidone, magnesium stearate, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, talc and glycerine.

Description of drug action

Genistein and daidzein are the main active substances of the Soyfem product, which are classified as isoflavones. They have the ability to bind to estrogen receptors. That affinity for binding results from similarity of their chemical structure to that of endogenous estrogens (that is, produced by the organism) and therefore they are commonly known as phytoestrogens.
Phytoestrogens genistein i daidzein present in soy have effects similar to those of estrogens although they are weaker and they protect against complaints related to a physiological decrease in estrogen production in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women.

Indications for use

The Soyfem drug is used:

  • in women suffering from menopausal complaints: hot flashes, excessive sweating, sleeping disorders, feeling of anxiety and nervous tenseness
