Ginkofar Coated tablets Composition Each tablet contains 40 mg of the dry extract from Ginkgo bilobae leafs, containing 24% ginkgoflavoglycosydes, 6 % terpene lactones and the following auxiliary substances: lactose, polyvinylpirolidone, polyethylene glycol, hydroxypropylmethylocellulose, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, colloidal silica, ferrous oxide.
Mechanism of action The combination of the active substances contained in the dry extract obtained form Ginkgo bilobae increases tissue tolerance, including brain tissue, to ischemia. This combination abolishes vasoconstriction, decreases blood viscosity and platelet aggregation, leading to increased blood flow through the tissue microvessels. Extract obtained from Ginkgo bilobae neutralizes free radicals and exerts neuroprotective activity. It is observed that the extract slightly attenuates the course of Alzheimer's disease and glaucoma. Clinical activity of Ginkofar consists of decreasing cerebral ischemia, improving cerebral blood flow and peripheral blood flow through lower extremities, protection of the cell against hypoxia, inhibition of platelet aggregation and increasing blood fluidity.
